Antiperspirants/Deodorants & Detoxification
Just the other day I had a phone conversation with a patient, and the need for the use of an antiperspirant came up. Antiperspirants stop sweat, and therefore stop the associated odor. However, the active mechanism in most antiperspirants is aluminum chlorhydrate. This chemical is absorbed through the skin and the aluminum is neurotoxic. Aluminum has been implicated as a contributing cause in Alzheimer’s as well as other forms of dementia.
