| NAET stands for Nambudripad's Allergy Elimination
Technique after its developer, Dr. Devi Nambudripad,
author of Say Goodbye to Illness.
It is an allergy treatment based on classical acupuncture
that is performed without needles. Allergens are cleared,
one at a time. The best results are obtained if they
are cleared in a specific order. Normally one item
is treated per day, then the substance is avoided
for 25 hours.
It depends on the conditions being treated,
but it can take as long as six to nine months of weekly
treatments. The good news is that results are usually
immediate enough to be encouraging, and when the allergy/sensitivities
are cleared, they tend to remain clear.
In our office a NAET session is $41 and takes
30-35 minutes which includes a 20 minute recovery
time. Some offices charge as much as $200.00 a visit,
and the typical cost is $85. Most patients will not
have insurance coverage so our fees have been established
with the knowledge that payment comes from discretionary
income. Since inflation sometimes causes fees to increase,
call to obtain current fees.

about Leaky
Gut Syndrome -
a Theory for the Cause of Allergy / Sensitivity
Allergies/Sensitivities
are increasingly common in today's toxic environment.
Until recently, there were no satisfactory methods
for eliminating a person's allergies. Desensitization
and drugs work, to some extent, but they cannot cure
the allergy. The most effective treatment before NAET
was complete avoidance of the offending allergen(s)
which is difficult and sometimes, impossible. In
a European study, NAET-like therapies produced lasting
results in over 85% of the cases studied.
An allergy/sensitivity is a negative reaction to something
in a persons environment (a chemical, a food, an airborne
irritant) that would not normally be expected to produce
a bad response.
In a toxic environment,
allergies are increasingly common. Virtually everyone
is allergic to something. This was not the case thirty
years ago. Our food, work, and living environments
have been so radically altered that, by the time we
are adults, our body responds to the environment as
toxic, poisonous, or hostile.
Allergies can cause
real illness. Continuous contact with an allergen
produces toxins in the body, causing symptoms of illness
or disease to occur. Sometimes allergy/sensitivity
doesn't cause but contributes to the disease. Examples
include respiratory problems (bronchitis, pneumonia,
asthma), circulatory problems (chest muscle pains,
rapid heart beats, heart irregularities), indigestion
(bloating, constipation, ulcers), genito-urinary problems
(kidney and bladder infections, prostate troubles,
PMS, impotency, infertility), muskulo-skeletal problems
(headaches, backaches, arthritis), brain symptoms
(fog, depression, ADD), skin problems (eczema, acne),
environmental reactions(chemical sensitivities,allergy
to pollen or perfume), food allergies (milk, seafood),
diseases (cancer, diabetes), and so forth. Just about
any health problem could merely be a symptom of underlying
allergies/sensitivities.
