Animal Chiropractic
is a holistic approach to the health and performance of animals. Chiropractic corrects subtle joint dysfunctions, known as subluxations.

The show cat, the house pet, the geriatric animal, the canine or equine athlete, and the service or work animal all have individual life styles, performance levels, and health needs.

Chiropractic for animals is complementary to veterinary care. It does not replace traditional veterinary medicine or surgery.

Benefits

• Pain relief
• Improved posture
• Enhanced physical performance
• Return to activity after injury

No matter what the age, condition, or current level of function, chiropractic can help to bring about improvement.

• Young animals get a good start on an active life.
• Older animals stay mobile comfortable
• Better performance in any animal

What Are the Symptoms of a Subluxation?

• Overall decreased function
• Pain behaviors
• Incoordination
• Stiffness
• Joint conditions
• Neurological disturbances
• Performance problems
• Symptoms may be absent

Animals Should Have:

• Good range of motion
• Body symmetry
• Uniform muscle tone
• Balanced posture
• Fluid movements
• Smooth gait

How About Very Large or Very Small Animals?

Appropriate techniques are used depending on the age, condition, and size of each individual animal. The adjustment is usually done with only the doctor’s hands.

Chiropractic has been successful in caring for all kinds of animals with all types of needs.

Goals of Care

Most animals will show significant improvement after one to four adjustments.

Chiropractic is an important complement to veterinary care for a healthy animal, prevention of future health problems, and better quality of life.

Many animal owners do not wait for symptoms to develop. They get their animals checked and adjusted periodically to help them be healthy and avoid future problems.

How Do I Choose an Animal Chiropractor?

Check the credentials of the doctor. The AVCA Certified Animal Chiropractor is highly qualified to administer chiropractic care to animals and has special training in the Veterinarian-Chiropractor team approach to animal care.
