A NEW CSA
LOCAL HARVEST
AND
COMMUNITY SUPPORTED AGRICULTURE
THE GROCERY LIST
THE LOCAL HARVEST CSA
HOW TO SIGN UP
Community Supported Agriculture or CSA in the traditional sense is buying a share of one farmer’s harvest. Local Harvest has created a new version of a very successful method of delivering farm fresh produce direct to the consumer. We are offering a year round CSA. Local Harvest’s CSA will consist of a share of many local sustainable/organic arms during this area’s growing season and produce direct from small organic farms in the Santa Cruz area when our rowing season is dormant. Our first priority of course is working with the local farmers. Some of the benefits of a Local Harvest CSA arc increased variety including meats and daily, guaranteed consistency of quality’ and freshness, and home delivery. You can have farm fresh produce delivered directly to your doorstep or you can pick up your share at one of the Local Harvest retail stores. We appreciate your consideration of our services. Local Harvest is committed to changing the way people perceive food production, and by buying from our local farmers we are helping to ensure community food security.

Local Harvest
The next best thing to growing your own.

Local Harvest is a grassroots business dedicated to selling farm fresh
goods direct from small local farms.

Local Harvest was founded in February 2001 as a distribution network to create an efficient system for chefs to receive local produce.

By creating a centralized process of ordering and delivering we are able to provide consistently fresh and flavorful produce for Kansas City’s finest restaurants. In November of 2001 Local Harvest opened the first retail location to bring that same consistent quality to the retail consumer. Now you can have top quality organic/sustainable produce delivered to your doorstep with the
Local Harvest CSA.

Purchasing a CSA plan saves you money each month and helps local
farmers—stay farmers.

Produce: The produce you receive will be the freshest produce available. It doesn’t sit in transit for a week only to make it to a large warehouse to sit for another week before it makes it to the shelf at your local grocery store. Our produce is picked ripe and conies direct from the farm ensuring optimum freshness, taste, and nutritional quality

Eggs: Only the freshest free range eggs make it to Local Harvest. Our main egg supplier Campo Lindo Farms has established themselves in Kansas City as a reputable source for free range eggs that are also hormone and antibiotic free.

Meat: After all this is the Midwest Local Harvest has some of the best steroid, hormone, and antibiotic free meat to offer. We only work with farmers who guarantee a pure product and humane treatment of their animals. The meat portion of your CSA share will include a rotating selection of free range chicken, lamb, grass-fed bison, grass-fed beef, pork, ostrich, elk, heritage poultry.

Dairy: Located in the rolling hills of Purdin,
MO is Green Hills Harvest. A small family run certified organic dairy farm that supplies us fresh grass-fed cow milk—you can really taste the difference. Goat’s cheese from GoatsbeardFarm in Harrisburg, MO. This young couple has traveled the country apprenticing with some of the best cheese makers before settling down on their own farm and perfecting artisan cheese production. We also offer several varieties of cow’s milk cheese. Morningland Dairy located in southern Missouri produces high quality aged raw cheese—no hormones, antibiotics, or colorants here
