It is difficult for me to believe that it will soon be forty years that I have been signing “RN” after my signature on medical charts. Those forty years have provided many experiences and opportunities to see changes in the medical field. I am certain that many commonly accepted medical practices in those initial years would be considered malpractice today. It makes me wonder what practices in the medical field today will be considered malpractice in the next forty years?

I have experienced a professional epiphany and have come to realize that the healthcare system does not necessarily facilitate good health. Unfortunately, the existing system functions as a disease management system where many times symptoms are alleviated, but physiological causes are never addressed. There are trained physicians adhering to the standards of care they were taught; yet there seems to be a revolving door of patients who have a growing list of medications. The results are frustrating for both patients and practitioners.

Another term used loosely in the medical community is health care team. As the patient, you are a member of the team. It benefits you to be more knowledgeable about your health conditions. Many accepted medical standards of care today fall short of having true therapeutic and restorative value. There are definite systemic problems but that should not undermine the professionals’ duty to do the job well or prevent openness to alternative/complementary options to care. With the technology available today, you have enormous amounts of information available to help you make informed decisions about you choices. Use it! Any doctor who encourages you otherwise is not the doctor for you. Choose your physician wisely!

When our daughter had been diagnosed with severe, life-threatening asthma, my husband and I felt we had few choices in regards to her medical care. We saw pediatricians, allergists, and pulmonologists in consultation and it was a great concern when she obtained no relief from the traditional medical interventions. The massive dosages of steroids had greatly compromised her health and led us yet to another specialist, the endocrinologist.

After extensive testing, we were told that she had no sever allergies but some mild sensitivities which were, “Certainly nothing that would be contributing to the severity of her condition.” Our concerns continued to grow as her condition grew more ominous.

I received a phone call from a concerned family friend, who happens to be a family practice doctor. He hesitantly suggested that we had other “alternatives” and told us about NAET. I started my journey into alternative/complimentary medicine and did some research. I found that NAET — an anachronism for Nambudripad’s Allergy Elimination Treatment, was a unique approach to treating allergies/sensitivities and other chronic inflammatory conditions.

I met with “Dr. David”. Dr. David Beaulieu, M.S., D.C. is the leading NAET Practitioner in the KS/MO area. He explained that the treatments are non-invasive and a drug free natural solution to eliminate allergies/sensitivities of all types and intensities through the use of “energy balancing” kinesiology and acupressure. Dr. David has been using NAET in conjunction with other modalities in his practice for over fifteen years.

I was skeptical, to say the least, but desperation won out over skepticism. We proceeded with NAET and the treatments were nothing short of incredible. Following NAET, she has had no reoccurrence or treatment for asthma in ten years. No inhalers, no nebulizer, no medications, no trips to the hospital for asthma! I wondered, “If NAET can do this for asthma, what can it do for other chronic inflammatory diseases?”

I was invited by Dr. David to learn more and began to “shadow” him in his office. For over a year I was observing, asking questions and satisfying my curiosity regarding the use and effectiveness of NAET. I even had NAET treatments myself and found that my health improved. No longer did I have those vague “I don’t feel good” complaints. I felt better than I had felt in twenty years. I began following the life-style instructions I heard him giving to patients. I’m now one of the few women my age that I know who can say “I am pharmaceutically FREE.”

Because of the many positive patient outcomes I have observed with Dr. David, I made the decision to go to California to be trained in NAET and Advanced NAET with the founder, Dr. Devi Nambudripad. It has been the most satisfying experience of my nursing career to work with Dr. David in his practice and to assist in the treatment of patients with a wide gamut of inflammatory disease processes. Most of our patients, like my daughter, come to our office as an act of desperation when nothing else they have tried has brought any relief or improved the quality of life.

If you wonder if you might benefit from NAET; if you just don’t feel as good as you think you should and don’t know why; if you have been told you have no allergies or sensitivities but still have symptoms; if you are taking numerous prescription drugs and finding no relief from physical symptoms, consider the possibilities of NAET. Dr. David Beaulieu is available for free telephone consultations to discuss your health and nutritional concerns. You can view the web site at www.askdoctordavid.com. Be sure to read our “Patient Stories”, which are testimonies of how patients have been helped by NAET.

I have had a history of asthma since I was one and a half years old. My mom and I spent many nights in the hospital as a baby due to lack of treatments at the time. As I grew older, I began taking allergy shots as an 8-12 year-old. I didn’t really see any improvements from them. I continued to have severe allergic reactions to things and suffer from asthma especially at night and during pollen and ragweed season. As an adult, I learned to control my reactions by limiting my intake of certain foods and staying inside during the peak seasons. I still had many sinus infections that lasted weeks at a time and caused me to miss work.

As of last September when I was suffering horribly with a sinus infection, I decided to try Dr. David after hearing the success story of a co-worker. I began treatment and didn’t really notice any difference immediately. After about 4-5 treatments, I noticed my breathing was much easier. My husband commented on how much quieter I was at night. After a year of treatment I was able to open the windows without wheezing uncontrollably. I was eating things without breaking out from them. I was feeling much healthier overall. I had more energy. When I finished my treatments in the spring, I was hardly using my inhaler and rarely taking my medication for wheezing. After completion of the treatments, I had one reaction that brought me back for a treatment. I know there will be others, but I am a believer in N.A.E.T., Dr. David, and the ladies that work in the office. My only regret is that I didn’t know about the treatment 45 years ago.

Thanks for giving me my life back. In 50 years I’ve never felt healthier. This N.A.E.T. is quite a program. I would never believed it if I hadn’t seen it work first hand. I appreciate your dedication and belief in the alternative. It takes courage.

I was 1st diagnosed with asthma & allergies when I was 9 years old. I started on the regular medicines like Theophlin , Alupant , inhalers, antibiotics & getting allergy shots. I remember missing weeks at a time from school & not being able to go outside during recesses. I did do a little improving during my adolescent years, but I think that was because my body was adjusting & still growing. I started high school & things took a turn for the worse. I developed pneumonia twice & kept getting sinus infections, thus leading to going to the doctor & getting more antibiotics. Little did I know what damage these were doing to my digestive tract. Growing older I would still constantly get sinus infections & start to feel bad after I had eaten.

The past 3 years I was constantly getting worse. I was feeling tired at work & not sleeping well at night. Finally I got sick & tired of feeling sick & tired. I decided then & there I was going to find an alternative treatment. I was watching the news one day & I saw a story about NAET. I did some researching & found a practitioner in the Kansas City area.

Thank God for Dr. David, Megan, Sandy & Barb! I started the NAET treatments a little over a year ago & man what a turn my health took! I found out about what antibiotics did to me & as well as what probiotics could do for me. I found out that most of my allergies were food related & a little of the environmental factors. I started feeling the effects after my 1st treatment. I wasn’t sure of what exactly was going on in my body but I knew something was happening.

I completed my treatments after about a year; I still go back to get checked up & to take care of some things that might pop up. I can’t begin to describe how much better I feel. I have so much more energy & really focused. I sleep a lot better; I have not had anymore sinus infections & hardly get sick anymore. I know that I’m really intoned with my body & really trust my instincts now without question.

Thank you so much for your dedication to this practice. And thanks for thinking & acting outside the box!

Dr. David,

I hope you post my story, I have bored all my friends with it so I might as well bore you too!

Thanks for making me well.

My story is for those wondering if the NAET system with Dr. David is for you. I have a family health history of diabetes, high blood pressure, asthma, heart disease, emphysema and yearly weight gain. I exercised, took supplements and ate right but the problems started anyway – just like the rest of my family. I took allergy and asthma medication but each year I would have to try a new drug because the old one simply stopped working. Soon I was taking 90 pills a month and carrying an inhaler. The last straw was when I had to stop having a glass of wine with my dinner. After drinking half of the glass my face would turn red, my throat would get scratchy and I would have a headache for the rest of the night.

My friend Karen told me about Dr. David and I made an appointment the next week. The treatments seemed so easy (slight pressure down the spine three times) I didn’t think it could possibly work…but it did! I knew going in that I would need a number of treatments and that the more items I cleared the more sensitive I would become to the remaining allergens…especially my cat! I was much better after the basics and started reducing my medication immediately. I was very tired after the first treatments so I only scheduled appointments when I could go home and take a nap. That was my only side effect and it didn’t happen every time.

Today I am allergy free. I have discontinued my prescriptions but I still go to the pulmonologist for my annual checkups. He tells me to keep up the good work — but he doesn’t know that I have not taken any of my medication for 9 months nor have I used my inhaler in over a year! I have saved at least $80.00 per month on those prescriptions and am not on a downward health spiral.

If you have questions about what I experienced feel free to contact me at (913) 381-3147 I love to talk about myself.

I attended a parent education night at Christots in October 2005. Dr. David Beaulieu was the guest speaker who talked with us about a different approach to treating allergies/asthma in children. Dr. David is a Clinical Nutritionist with a background in Chiropractic care.

My daughter (Bailey) had been on/off antibiotics all of her 4 years of life. She had ear tubes, multiple ear infections, multiple sinus infections, and been treated her for asthmatic symptoms (breathing treatments, meds, etc.). I have been taking Bailey for treatments weekly to Dr. David’s office since October.

I’m not sure how his technique works, but I know my child is better. She hasn’t had one ear infection, sinus infection, or asthmatic episode since starting treatment. She did get “strep throat” from her sister, and had a mild cough with that, but nothing like what we used to deal with.

If you have a child with problems as stated above, I encourage you to check out this treatment option.

I am a 44-year old woman who had been led to believe all my life that I would never be able to enjoy the companionship of a pet, preferably a dog due to my severe allergies. Growing up in the 60s and 70s doctors weren’t curious enough to determine why every time I went to a friend’s house I would get sick. As I got older and wiser it was very apparent to me that any time I was around dogs or cats I would develop several allergy symptoms, rashes, swollen eyes and the worst of all asthma. There were times when the breathing would get so bad I would have to be rushed to the emergency room, but again the diagnosis was always you have asthma, learn to live with it.

As an adult I finally had the skin tests to confirm that I was indeed allergic to dogs and cats. Well until I had children the only option I could see was to stay away from animals as much as possible. Anyone with allergies knows that is not always possible and can make visiting friends very difficult.

When my children were growing up they continually asked why Mommy couldn’t have a dog. They acted like they understood but you know in their hearts they didn’t. When the boys were about 6 and 1 year old we did get a dog, in fact two dogs, one of which we inherited. They both had to be outside dogs, which was fine to some degree but was not the kind of companionship or relationship I wanted or the boys wanted with these new members of our family.

In 2007 when the last of the two dogs passed away of old age my husband and I agreed we would not get any more pets if there was no way we could have the pets with us in the house. A year went by with no pets until just before Christmas 2007 my youngest son, who is 12 now asked for only one thing for Christmas and that was another dog, specifically a puppy he could raise.

After much research on allergy treatments it looked like the traditional allergy shot treatments were still the primary way people were dealing with the problem, and many were less effective than what the patient was expecting. During my research I stumbled upon the NAET treatments and Dr. David Beaulieu. Having a medical background I will say my first impressions of the treatments were this is too simple to work and what clinical proof was there that this would actually take care of a problem I have dealt with for my lifetime. My son’s, during the treatment, would jokingly say “Mom, are you going to the witch doctor today?” because they too couldn’t understand how this could work.

After receiving the basic treatments and then treatments specific to our new puppy I am ecstatic to say that each evening I now enjoy the loving companionship of my dog, Kenai (Goldendoodle). I can breathe; my eyes are not swollen and no more rashes when the dog licks my skin. I can honestly say my lifelong prayer to enjoy the companionship of a pet has been answered and I owe thanks to Dr. David providing me with this new found freedom to enjoy life and for making a believer out of me for alternative type treatments such as acupressure and acupuncture.

I now fully believe that not everything in the world can be cured by a shot or by taking a pill, sometimes it is just learning how the body and mind works. Thanks, Dr. David.

Any parent who has a child with severe asthma knows the feelings of helplessness and frustration while watching their child struggle to breathe. If you are one such parent, my testimony should give you a realization that there is hope for your child to lead a better life, free from inhalers and drugs.

Prior to the start of third grade our family made the decision to home-school our daughter. This decision turned out to be a wise move on our part considering the health events that followed. It was a time I won’t forget as the autumn season initiated six weeks fraught with uncertainty as my husband and I administered breathing treatments to our daughter every two hours, around the clock. We alternated visits to the pediatrician and allergist’s offices, along with a middle of the night trip to the ER. Because I am a registered nurse, with years of critical care experience, we were able to keep her out of the hospital and do monitoring and treatments at home. With each trip to the doctor the medication list grew longer and the steroid usage escalated to a dangerous point that had negative effects on her overall health. In less that two weeks she had gain twenty-three pounds, puffing up like a balloon with stretch marks all over her body! I knew her adrenal glands could not sustain that kind of steroid use. X-rays confirmed that air which was trapped in her lungs was seeping into the tissues causing crepitus in her neck and shoulders. It seemed that our standard interventions were not working and her lung capacity just kept diminishing.

When we all were reaching our point of exhaustion she seemed to make some positive changes and gradually she started to regain her strength, but her body and lungs were definitely weakened by the ordeal. We spent the next few months on edge, keeping her relatively stable with multiple inhalers, breathing treatments, and allergy medications. All tests to identify what possible allergens could be contributing to her asthma left the allergist befuddled, as she was not demonstrating any “significant allergic responses”. As time went on, we learned to live day to day, never going anywhere without our asthma gear in tow.

One day a very enthusiastic friend insisted, “You have to take her to Dr. David and get NAET!” Because I knew this friend to be a competent nurse, I questioned her at length on the subject of NAET and quite frankly none of it made a bit of sense to me! But, she continued to insist that NAET had cured her son’s dairy intolerance and she felt strongly that it could help our daughter. Knowing that her husband is a medical physician with a thriving medical practice, I asked for his opinion. He admitted his skepticism but agreed, “Our son is no longer sensitive to dairy and enjoys ice cream and pizza with the rest of us. It certainly won’t hurt her to try. What have you got to lose?”

I thought about the advice for sometime before calling to make the appointment. After meeting with Dr. David and hearing his explanation of NAET, I still was still doubtful and was on the verge of walking out of the office. My comment to Dr. David was, “I am so western medicine trained that I don’t buy in to any of this!” But, bouncing around in my head was the vision of my daughter as she had suffered the year before and the words of my friend — “What do you have to lose?” Hummm? What did I have to lose? A little time, a little money. What do we have to gain? The possibility of an asthma free life and good health for my daughter!

The outcome of this story should be obvious to you. Why would I be writing a testimony if we had not stayed and experienced successful NAET treatments! I am happy to say that she has been asthma free (asthma drug free) for 5 years since NAET treatments with Dr. David. It has been a joy to watch her emerge from a wheezy fourth grader to a carefree, asthma free teenager who enjoys running on her track team, hiking in the mountains, biking on the trails… Her quality of life has obviously been drastically changed.

After working as an RN for years in the current health care system, that in reality is a disease management system, I have shifted gears. I believe that the traditional paradigm from which we have approached medicine can and must change if we want to truly enjoy good health. We must stop trying to manage diseases with treatments that are ineffective and/or create more health issues. I do believe that the physicians with whom I have worked strive for excellence in their practice and truly want to provide better health for the patients. Yet, I have also come to believe that our traditional western medicine approaches do not provide all the tools needed to accomplish this. Their intervention, be it pharmaceutical or surgical, may relieve a symptom or complaint but the root cause of the problem goes untreated only to lead to more ill health in time.

You probably have found this website and are reading this testimony because you or someone you know suffers from some health issue that has not been helped by traditional approaches. I would encourage you to call Dr. David and discuss your concerns. What do you have to lose?
