How Did We Get To Be So Sick?
Both my mentors were very interested in the ‘diet/disease connection,’ and that is what has driven me in my practice these forty two years. What amazes me is that it was evident even back in the 1960s that most chronic disease was caused by changes in the general diet caused by food processing and chemical farming.
Alzheimer’s, A Disease Of Advanced Civilization
In parts of rural Africa lacking electricity, there is nearly a complete absence of Alzheimer’s Disease (AD). This is what we know so far…

Slowing The Aging Process With Vitamin C
Dr. Pauling spoke to me of Vitamin C and its relationship to detoxification, immunity, sprain/strain repair and aging. Dr. Pauling’s reputation as a recipient of two Nobel prizes prompted me to head for the library at the local medical school to look up the available research on Vitamin C. This is what I found.
Preventing Age Related Mental Decline
It is customary in our society to expect mental decline in old age, however, a close look at history tells us that we are wrong in our expectation. As our natural foods have become less and less nourishing because of agribusiness farming practices that increase profits for the farmer with little concern for the consumer along with an enormous increased consumption of man-made/processed/manufactured foods, we as a nation have noticed this increase in mental decline, and I do not believe it is limited to old age.
Developmental Delays and Breathing Difficulty
Our journey to Dr David started when Hudson became very ill with acid reflux and breathing problems which was also causing multiple developmental delays. A weekend visit from Hudson and his parents became the alarming eye opener for me and Hudson’s PaPa. Hudson was thirteen months old at the time of this particular visit. His skin tone was a grayish color; he was suffering from a horrible sticky, grainy foul smelling diarrhea. He was very lethargic and was mostly comfortable in a semi incline position. The only developmental milestone he was displaying was in a sitting position with support.
Why You Need To Supplement Your Diet
As you age, your body’s metabolism changes from optimal in youth to good in middle age to rapidly declining in old age. The good news is that if you keep the amounts of vitamins and minerals within your body at levels associated with youth and vigor, you can experience youthfulness into your elderly years.
Dr. David’s Basic Self-Help Program
I put this program in a couple of newsletters every year as a reminder that we all need to add certain micronutrients to our diets that big agribusiness has taken away.
Immune Boosting Benefits: Laboratory assay demonstrates the immune boosting benefits of a sound vitamin supplement program
I don’t have a spectacularly interesting story to tell you. Rather, I think my story is one of prevention. I first heard you [Dr. David Beaulieu] on the radio at least twenty years ago, it was when you were first starting Preventics.
